How It Works

30 days to build your day around prayer

For the first 5 days, Fr. Jeremy and the Norbertine Canonesses teach you the basics: why the monks pray the psalms, where the psalms come from, and how to pray them yourself without rushing or getting lost. It's a short, guided on-ramp, a few minutes a day.

Then, for the next 25 days, you pray. A short psalm each morning to open your day, and a short psalm each evening to close it, the same words being prayed in monasteries around the world. Add them to your schedule and let them anchor your day, one morning and one evening at a time.

By the end, prayer isn't something you fit in when you remember. It's the rhythm the rest of your day is built around.

Your Guides:

God's call led Fr. Jeremy to the Order of St. Augustine at thirty-four, and he professed solemn vows in 2020. Today he serves in the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, where his work spans evangelization, peace and justice, and vocations. He is also known for something more physical: leading walking pilgrimages, once covering 115 miles on foot over seven days. What drew him to the Augustinians was their life of community, lived with one mind and one heart on the way to God.

High in California's Tehachapi Mountains, a community of nuns has ordered its entire life around prayer. The Norbertine Canonesses of the Bethlehem Priory of St. Joseph follow the Rule of St. Augustine and are dedicated to the reverent celebration of the Church's liturgy, with pride of place given to Latin and Gregorian chant. Their days are modeled on the Divine Office. They rise from sleep at midnight to chant the office of matins, then pause from their work throughout the day to pray. For them, everything stops for prayer, and everything flows from it.
